ABOUT THE BRIDE: I grew up in St. Charles, Missouri and graduated from the
University of Missouri - Columbia with a Bachelors in Nursing. I am currently
a nurse for two private surgeons at Urological Associates. When I am not
spending time with family and friends I enjoy shopping, exercising, and
playing softball in the summer.
ABOUT THE GROOM: Jamal grew up in Toronto, Ontario and graduated from
Western Michigan University with a Bachelors in Business Administration. He
has been playing hockey with the St. Louis Blues for the past eight years.
For fun he enjoys cooking, reading, playing golf and tennis, and spending the
summers in Canada.
HOW WE MET: We met through a mutual acquaintance three years ago and
intially were just great friends for a few months. We then started dating
and it took Jamal 3 weeks to kiss me. Later, we married July 10, 2004.
ENGAGEMENT: Afer the season ended in May 2003, Jamal
wanted to get away so he took me on a trip to San Francisco. On the
second night there he took me to a romantic dinner and unbeknownst to
me, when we returned to our hotel, our room was filled with twelve
dozen red roses and white lilies. He then got down on one knee and
proposed. I definitely said yes -- it was amazing!
PLANNING: With both of us working, we decided it would be best to hire a
wedding planner, Josie Littlepage with Cosmopolitan Events.
She helped us tremendously throughout the entire process with all the
details. Josie made our wedding completely stree-free and absolutely
perfect.

ATTIRE: My dress was made by Romona Keveza and I found it at the Ultimate
Bride in St. Louis. The bridesmaids wore pale, pink tee-length dresses by
Watters and Watters and I too, found them here in St. Louis at St. Louis
Wedding Design. Jamal's tux was made by Billy Hooper Clothier and the
groomsmen wore black tuxes from Gingiss.
THE CEREMONY: We had a full mass, an evening ceremony at the Shrine of St.
Joseph. It was a traditional and spiritual ceremony performed by Msgr. Kevin
Callahan who was the priest from my grade school in St. Charles.

THE RECEPTION: Immediately after our wedding we enjoyed a reception at the
Ritz Carlton in Clayton, Missouri. It was absolutely breath-taking. I remember
walking into the ballroom and thinking it looked like a fairy tale. Both our
families and friends are so important to us, so we wanted to include everyone
in our special day. We had a magician, Brent Lowenstein, perform for the
children in a private room during the dinner. Afterwards, everyone danced
the night away.
